This is the continuation of a project started recently, involving an exterior walkway, gate, flagstone and utility area stone wall.
Here we see the topsoil distributed and compacted between and around the walkway pavers. Why: to provide more organic nutrients to help the upcoming hydroseeded grass to grow better and thicker. It’s a stunning effect: with grass growing between pavers along a walkway in this manner” controlled, architectural, and yet completely integrated with nature. And the hardscape contractor’s skills help this walkway to be smooth, in-plane and a delightful surprise. Hydroseeding will be held off until all the other work is done, so other vehicles are running around over it. All the gravel site areas will be hydroseeded to reclaim those service drives back into green nature, while continuing to allow occasional vehicular movement with that solid gravel base (that will simply be concealed by the future grass).
And here is Rojo mortaring the flagstones in the utility area, in preparation of the stone wall.
Here’s the site gate to the utility area, installed before the stone wall, so that several long screws through the metal posts can be set directly into mortar between stones, making the latch side of the gate strong.
