After decades of designing homes, it finally occurred to Rand Soellner Architect to adopt the official Trademark of HOME ARCHITECTS TM. Mr. Soellner’s trademark attorney received official notice from the Federal Government that Soellner’s desired trademark was now on the official supplemental register. After 5 more years in common usage as the firm’s trademark, this will be final, however, in the meanwhile, the trademark term is in fact, now registered with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, and no other business can use this trademark.
Sometime during the next couple of weeks, the company intends to implement the new logo web-wide and on all other materials. The legal new name of the company within the State will become: Home Architect, PLLC, which has already been approved by the Board of Architecture and is being approved by the Secretary of State.
Soellner acquired the website domain name: HomeArchitects.com several years ago and has since built the website into a juggernaut with over 400 pages of informative and interesting content about houses and the design of residences. The number of pages grows weekly and has become one of World’s best sources for information about residential design.

The shift of firm logo trademark signifies the main purpose of the design work of the company, which is the design of custom homes. In the past, Soellner was the architect on other commercial projects as well, including high schools, fire stations, water treatment plants, NASA laboratories, and of course: numerous custom houses, condominiums (including single story, and mid-rise) and some high-rise designs, and themed facilities.

Soellner says that his detailed commercial background and his themed background helps him to create and resolve any condition that may arise in the design of interesting residential projects, which he says can become quite involved, for some projects. For instance, Soellner has created castles as residences for some clients, and they are very detailed, with lots of rich details.

However, Soellner noted that compact houses also benefit from knowledgeable detailing. Those are the budgets that can least afford to have repetitive maintenance. Durability of materials and systems is frequently a request from Soellner’s clients, so his designs incorporate those features.
